Before going into steps to add timestamps, let’s see where we can add timestamps.
We can add timestamps to our video in the video’s comment and description.
We will add chapters in two steps.
Step 1 – Writing the timecodes to add timestamps to the video:
Our first step is to write the timecodes or timestamps with their respective description in a notepad.
Let’s see how we can write the timecodes. There are certain rules that we have to follow.
Add “0:00 – Introduction” to the first line of your timestamp. This tells youtube that the next few lines are the timecode. Here left side of the colon “:” represents the minute and after that seconds. For example, 1:32 represents the start of the chapter at 1 minute 32 seconds.
Here I will take an example of writing time codes for one of my YouTube videos.

Step 2 – Paste the written timestamps to the video description or comment:
Its final step of adding a timestamp. Just copy the timestamp that you have written in the notepad.
